  1. Great episode as always, guys -- thanks again for the shout-out. 30 reviews in two months? Not bad... ;) How can Superman be anyone's favorite superhero? Batman is far superior, and that is a fact, not a debate. Just sayin'. Mindjack looks potentially very interesting, I'll be looking forward to how 1/multi player is somehow melded together. That whole thing with Nintendo coming out with strong 3DS warnings was crazy, I'm still not 100% sure how to interpret that.

As for Super Mario World's place in gaming history (and I loved hearing your collective takes on the title and SNES in general), while Super Mario Bros. on the NES may have been the cartridge that almost single-handedly resurrected the home video game console industry, Super Mario World on the SNES was the game that showed 1) video games are here to stay and 2) Mario was going to become a nearly unrivaled gaming icon. Super Mario World was definitely a phenomenal game, but if you ever want to dive into an interesting debate, hop into a room of retro Nintendo purists and ask whether it is superior to Super Mario Bros. 3. The real question, of course, is whether World was as big of a leap forward for Nintendo (and their Mario credibility) as Super Mario 64 was, considering our favorite plumber's leap into the foray of three-dimensionsal gameplay--

I really do ramble a lot. Sorry. Great show, etc., see ya later!

  3. I was listening to this podcast after a long week of school. Anyways, I’m glad that Scott got to experience in my opinion, the greatest Mario game of all time. I enjoyed the hell out of Super Mario World, or Super Mario Advanced 2 because I played it on the GBA back then. Anyways it is probably my most played Mario game of all time and the only Mario game that I got 100% in and I have a number of 999 lives in the game because it was so much fun to play. Also, I think I remember hearing about Mind Jack back then at E3 but I probably will not get it since it just seems to be Team Fortress Classic except it is set in the future, has a larger amount of players, and looks way better in the graphics department. Also, DC Universe does seem interesting but after listening to what Gooch said about it, I am probably not going to buy it since I would rather get Final Fantasy 14 on the PlayStation 3 instead if Square Enix fixes all the problems with it. Anyways, my question to both of you guys is what are your opinions on the Shenmue series? Just wondering since I started playing Shenmue 2 on my newly acquired Xbox and that I think Tony said that he was into the Sega Dreamcast when it was new and was wondering if any of you played Shenmue on the Dreamcast or Shenmue 2 on the Xbox. Personally to me, it is one of the greatest video game series of all time and I would definitely put the first game on my top three games of all time.
