This week as Scott hosts he is joined by Vognasty and Gooch (who are extra pumped and clever). Richie Branson himself stops by to talk about his new mixtape The Cole Republic! Vognasty is leads the way with news, Scott got a 3DS, Gooch is debating what new handheld to get, we talk about our new YouTube show called Max HP and more!
Question of the week: Will Nintendo get DLC right?

hey guys, wheres tony been? just wondering...Question: has there ever been a game you didnt care to play but rather preferred to watched a friend play...i can remmeber doing this with Resident Evil on playstation, Dragon Warrior on nes, GTA 3 on playstaion 2, with all these games i preffered to just watch a friend playthrough rather than man the conrols, equal enjoyment for all...Havnt wrote in since before the merger so just want to let you know I'm still listenin.
ReplyDeleteI have been ranting about this on other forums and podcasts. I really hope Nintendo will do the right thing with DLC. It's unfortunate that you have to buy story-critical DLC on day one of availability of the new Mass Effect. If companies get too greedy with DLC, people will eventually stop buying games, or at least buy fewer of them. Then they will lose a huge amount of revenue and realize they made a mistake.
ReplyDeleteThe consumer market is the real regulator of business practices, and if it get out of control and they burn enough people, they will know they screwed up. The only effective way to say "F-U" to these people is to not buy their products.
Otherwise, where will it end? Will $60 packages at launch be just expensive demo discs, where you have to spend another $60 for the real content or multiplayer? (Ridge Racer for the Vita is a prime example of this.)
Perhaps then another meltdown will happen, and then rebuild itself up like it did in the 1980s. As with most industry transitions, it will have to get worse before it gets better.
